SLOPE STUDY FOR TAMPARULI-SANDAKAN ROAD IN SABAH

Study of slopes along 300 km of road as part of consortium to come up with solutions for  mitigations of risks associated with massive slopes along this highway along mountainous terrain. The study involved usage of laser (LiDAR) mapping to map 300 km of roadway and its surrounds and development of Asset Database for slopes. LIDAR information plus on site mapping by number of field teams and input of number of expertise both local and Hong Kong formed basis for development of Slope Maintenance and Risk Tracking (SMART) system. SMART system was developed for  nation wide application particularly for National Slope Database involving all man made slopes in the country. During the study various guides were developed including Slope Performa Guide. This study was undertaken by consortium of four Consulting firms.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: TANJONG TOKONG RECLAMATION & LAND IMPROVEMENT, PENANG
E&O Property (Penang) Sdn Bhd
To design, check and oversee construction works for a design and build contract.  Works involved reclamation and land improvement on some 214 acres of area for high end residential and commercial development. Project involved review of geotechnical designs, additional site investigation and redesign of  PVD drains used for ground improvement
2004-2006

SLOPE REHABILITATION STUDY FOR INSTITUTIONS UNDER MINISTRY OF EDUCATION
Ministry of Education
Study involved some 215 institution having slope related problems in Pahang, Selangor, and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur as identified by the Ministry of Education. Study involved detailed inspection each institution, review of existing issues at each institution, identification of problems and mitigation/remeadial measures.   A database was developed which included each school, its issues, and recommendation of mitigation/remeadial measues. Development slope database and maintenance  Manual for lay persons.1996-1998

Re-assessment and re-evaluation of  land improvement for airport runway involving repeat of Site Investigation and design of land improvement cumulating in considerable savings in construction costs for Alor Star Airport Extension and extension of runway.  2002-2003

EAST WEST HIGHWAY: SLOPE REPAIRS

Repairs of some 141 massive slopes, design checks and construction supervision and stability re-assessments. solutions included horizontal drains, filter blankets, retaining walls, bored pile walls, anchors and host of geotechnical designs.1989-1994
